The Crynwyr Cymru – Quakers in Wales group, ‘Gyda’n Gilydd’ (‘together’ in Welsh), was formed in 2022 with the intention of improving and streamlining communications and outreach work amongst Quakers in Wales. It also aims to support the building of positive and co-operative relationships with other individuals and groups in Wales who share some of our values and outlook.

To achieve this aim, the group will be making use of the Crynwyr Cymru – Quakers in Wales website, social media channels and newsletters, as well as resources such as posters, books and leaflets. We know that Quakers live their faith in a variety of active and exciting ways all over Wales. We would like to be far more proactive and efficient in the way we share information amongst Friends in Wales and beyond, so if you have an exciting project underway, please do let us know so that we can share the information with others!

Additionally, if you’d like to contribute a blog about a subject that is important to you, or if you’d like to share information about meetings and / or courses that may be of interest to friends and attenders, please email Laura, the Crynwyr Cymru Coordinator – crynwyrcymru@gmail.com

The world has changed substantially following the global covid pandemic, and our ways of worshipping and living our faith have also had to adapt and change. Virtual and digital platforms are now a far bigger part of most of our lives than they were before the pandemic, so let’s make the best possible use of these tools to bring us closer together!

Of course, the virtual world does not and should not replace meeting face to face, and the Gyda’n Gilydd Group are currently busy planning our Quaker presence at the National Eisteddfod in Llyn and Eifionydd in August 2023. If you’d like to join us at the Eisteddfod, or if you have any ideas for Quaker activities at the Eisteddfod, please contact Laura – crynwyrcymru@gmail.com

Gyda’n Gilydd have a new newsletter that will be shared on a monthly basis. If you’d like to receive this newsletter, please subscribe here! We are very much looking forward to improving our communications – and getting to know each other better in the process!

In friendship,

Laura, Rhian, Medi, Lulu ac Emma (Members of the Gyda’n Gilydd Committee)
